Tory Lanez Has Been Sentenced To 10 Years For Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Canadian Rapper Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by a judge in Los Angeles after he was found guilty of shooting the American female rapper Megan Thee Stallion on her feet multiple times.

The tragedy that took place back in the year 2020 made the internet blaze with heated arguments, with people saying that it happened because some white people still hate blacks.

Megan Thee Stallion, the victim in question, wrote a statement that was read in court yesterday saying what Tory Lanez did on top of shooting her.

“He not only shot me, he made a mockery of my trauma. This is a statement for all survivors that their lives matter and there is zero tolerance for the torture that accompanies violence.” Megan Thee Stallion’s statement read:

The female rapper couldn’t make it to court yesterday to give her final plea but wrote it all down on a statement, the reason being that she never wanted to be in the same room with a person who shot her.

Apparently, Tory Lanez was to be given a 13-year sentence, the reason being that “he lacked remorse and was clearly incapable of accepting any responsibility for his own actions”. As explained by the public prosecutor. Were it not that the rapper addressed the court, asking for redemption and a second chance, it would have been 13 years.

Even so, Tory Lanez apologized and owned up to his mistakes.

“If I could turn back time on the series of events that night, I would.

The victim was my friend, someone I still care about to this day. Everything I did wrong that night, I take full responsibility for.”

Judge Herriford dismissed anything to do with saying that the rapper was suffering from PTSD, confirming that he had weighed Lanez’s conduct after the shooting against his lack of criminal history and record of community service.

“Sometimes good people do bad things,” The Judge said.

On the details of the July 2020 assault, It all evolved gradually via law enforcement accounts and social media posts, resulting in internet drama and finger-pointing before the case ever entered a courtroom.

Rapper Lanez was initially arrested and charged only with weapons possession after an encounter as he, Megan Thee Stallion, and a friend were being driven home from a pool party at reality star Kylie Jenner’s residence.

The American rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who is 28 as of now, initially told the police officers that she had bruised her feet by stepping on glass. She was on high alert after the police killing of George Floyd and was concerned that her selling out Lanez would cost her career as a rapper, hence why she decided not to say the truth.

Moments later, after coverage of the case by hip-hop and celebrity blogs as well as social media posts by Rapper Tory Lanez, Megan decided to speak out that she had been shot on the feet and required surgery in both feet, naming the rapper (Lanez) as her assailant (the one who attacked her) on her Instagram page.

Later on in court, after a decade of exchanging words with Tory Lanez on social media, Megan went and testified in court that she had been shot at several times moments after she had left her car following an argument they had that revolved around their romantic entanglement and their careers.

Megan told the court that Tory Lanez went out there preaching that he was a good person and, in turn, defamed and tarnished her name in the process.

“He lied to anyone that would listen and paid bloggers to disseminate false information about the case on social media. He released music videos and songs to damage my character and continue his crusade.” Megan Thee Stallion testified to the court.

She even hinted that the rapper (Tory Lanez) had offered her and the friend she was with that night a million dollars to forget about the whole incident and keep it off the public’s radar.

The case had ups and downs until yesterday, when it was closed down. Sentencing had originally been set for January but was rescheduled several times as Tory Lanez hired new lawyers and sought a new trial. The musician’s legal team argued that some evidence shown during the trial, including Instagram posts, had been prejudicial, but the judge denied that request in May.

Tory Lanez is now facing 10 years in prison after being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion several times on her feet.
