TIPS ON HOW TO GET MORE SLEEP

You are having problems trying to sleep, and you badly want to take that nap… Then here are tips that you should consider adhering to in order to get that sleep.

1. Don’t go back to Bed
When you are up, as in when you have woken, stay away from bed during daytime. This way the body automatically knows that it should be proactive when you are up and to maintain that order to your body that whenever you go to bed then it’s sleep time. It self-activates and you will sleep.

During the day, just don’t step back to bed until sleeping hours are on.

2. Have A Routine
Have usual hours that your body knows it’s time to rest and don’t skip nor make them earlier in other times, always maintain that routine.

It helps your body adjust and get used to it.

3. Don’t take Coffee
It’s normally a norm that exists every evening of course with some other people that during the evening or before bedtime that is after meals that there should be a cup of coffee.

Refrain from taking such potions of coffee if you want to sleep properly, or you will stay up all night and keep wondering what the problem is, coffee has got Caffeine that once consumed it’s distributed to the brain that will keep you alert and awake.

During the day yes, but at night Don’t.

4. Do Exercises
Exercising helps keep your body fit and of course a time it leaves you restless, one of the main reasons why you should do it so that you can sleep well.

Just don’t over do it.

5. Take a Shower
Always consider taking a hot shower before you go to bed, it will help your mind and body relax, much of the better reason you will need to rest.

6. Don’t take Heavy Meals or diet.
Taking a lot of meals before bedtime pauses a great challenge to sleep because digestion takes a lot longer, and you can’t sleep when digestion is on, so it’s always advisable to take light meals at night so that you make it easy for digestion to take place and ensure you sleep.

7. Disconnect from your Surroundings
In the sense that you should start getting ready for bed physically and of course mentally getting to stop thinking a lot or whichever something you were handling pause it there and tell yourself you will pick it up from there tomorrow.

You shouldn’t go to bed with many thoughts you are in bed, but you have a million reasons as to why shouldn’t be sleeping, kind of overthinking! Always disconnect before you sleep.

8. Prepared Packed Bedroom
Always very good that you consider to have prepared your bedroom, in the sense that when you walk in it automatically invites you to sleep.

It should be in somehow dark without noise or any other distractions playing. Just make it comfortable.

9. Avoid Distractions
Anything that will prevent you from closing your eyes, consider it not. If you are going to sleep, avoid using tablets, laptops and even TV screens.

Research has it that this modern devices tend to affect our eyesight, if we stare them for so long and activate our brain with anxiety, hence making people lose sleep.

10. Try Doing Something else
If you still have done all those above-mentioned things, and you haven’t still slept, kind of having problems with sleeping then consider getting up from bed whenever you don’t feel like sleeping, It’s pretty obvious then you may have missed a step somewhere but still if you didn’t.

Get out of bed sit for like 20 minutes try doing something that will relax you, maybe reading a novel, or clearing your mind. It’s probably the million thoughts you have in your mind, and then you will sleep.
