‘They’re not going anywhere with our money’-Kennedy Rapudo calls for audit of the fired CS’s

Published on

Flashy businessman Kennedy Rapudo has publicly called for audit for the fired cabinet secretaries.

To perform an audit is to conduct an official financial inspection of (a company/individual or its accounts).

According to Kennedy Rapudo, firing them is not enough, as he thinks some of them might have acquired wealth during their time as cabinet secretaries.

One of the renowned CS’s who lost their job is Kipchumba Murkomen. Ironically, he was among the members of parliament who were calling for a lifestyle audit.

The Roads and Transport CS wanted all public servants and State officers to undergo lifestyle audits annually in order to curb corruption.

The CS took issue with concerns raised during the anti-government protests on the misappropriation of public resources and extravagant display of lavish lifestyles by public servants and State officials.

He suggested that Members of Parliament should legislate laws where civil servants are audited before and after assuming public offices to monitor wealth acquisition.

Kennedy Rapudo’s statement

Taking to his Instagram, Kennedy Rapudo also called for an audit of the CDF and county government projects.

”We need the sacked CS and their staff to be audited, they are not going anywhere with our public money. Next step would be to audit all the county government and the infamous CDF projects. They will not believe,” he wrote on his socials.

Kenyans continue to make more demands even after president Ruto fired the cabinet secretaries.
