Saboti Chief Protus Sifuna narrates the story behind the viral ‘Misheveve’ video
The chief went viral when narrating the ‘Misheveve video’ explaining how the son got upset and harassed both parents upon realizing his mother had cooked a different kind of meal than what he expected.
Through an interview he did with West FM, Protus Sifuna said the whole story came to be when a young man walked home asking his mother what she had prepared but got upset when the mother told him that she had prepared ‘Misheveve,’ a swahili luhya word that is used to describe pumpkin leaves.
“Misheveve ilipatikana hapa saboti, kuna mzee alikua hapo anaitwa stephen na vile alikua kwa nyumba na mama alikua anapika mboga na kijana yake alikua anatokea huku, kijana akaamua kumuuliza mama umepika mboga gani? Mama akasema ni misheveve lakini kijana alisema anataka sarati.“
According to the chief, the boy was upset with what the mother and started laying blows on her because she prepared something different. It was during this time that an altercation occurred where the young man pushed his mother to the corner. The father, who was asleep, seeing that his wife was overpowered by his son, he woke up trying to help, but this never went according to plan as the son hit the father with the stool his mother was sitting on.
“Mama kumuelezea, Kijana hakuridhika na baba yake alikua kwa kitanda sasa kijana akasukuma mama huko mzee kuona mama analemewa aka amuka lakini kijana akachukua kiti moto ambayo mama alikua amekalia na kulima nayo mzee kwa shingo” Saboti Chief Protus started narrating.
As if that was not enough, the young man, who is also the son to both parents, went ahead and started chewing his father’s fingers just to make sure that his father stayed down.
“Hata ingawa mzee ameumizwa na ameangamia, akazimia, kwa hiyo kupigwa na kiti moto, kijana hakuridhika akasema mpaka nihakikishe akaanza kumtafuna vidole kama omena, akamudelete, kumpigia hesabu ya minus kwa maisha.” Protus said.
Luckily enough the mother gathered the strength to scream out loud and alert the neighbors who came to her rescue.
The Misheveve video has gone viral across all social media platforms to a point where some have recorded a song in honor of the viral phrase.
