Everybody needs a birth certificate, which is necessary for a number of government applications, including those for a passport, KCSE and KCPE registration, National ID applications, and many more.
A Birth certificate is basically an official document that gives information about a person’s birth.
The applicant attaches a copy of the clinic card(ANC booklet), copy of the parents ID or Proof of Registration and submits them to the Civil Registrar who will issue a birth notification to be used to process the birth certificate.
Applications for Newborns:
Parents are required to submit;
- The notification of birth from the hospital (Copy and original).
- The original National ID cards, birth certificates or passports of the parents.
- Application forms (BDA – Birth and Deaths Registration Form) duly filled.
