Zambian Artist Roberto has arrived in Kenya with an aim of wanting to connect his country with Kenya as far as music is concerned.
Roberto was received by the press on his arrival, amongst them were SPM Buzz that got a chance to interview him and ask him about the music industry especially on the Kenyan artists who quit and decided to pursue other genres.
Roberto extended his greetings to the press who received him and the reception team that helped him get through well.
He said that he wants to create more opportunities in Kenya so that he reduces tripping to Kenya. Asked why he chose Kenya as one of his priorities to tour in, he said that it’s because of the hospitality that he received when he arrived to perform and as well as promote the brands he is working for.
Asked if he was paid by the Amarulah company, he said that he had discussions with the Company despite the deal not pushing through.
“We did have this discussion with Amarulah, but that contract never fell through, but I think there’s still room and opportunities for us to do great work.”
He told the Radio Kenyan Presenters to keep promoting the local music so that the industry can grow and reach international levels, mentioning that he seconds Eric Omondi’s motion to play 75% Kenyan Music but also said that he shouldn’t advocate that there should be a limit to artists coming to perform in Kenya.
“I do agree with my brother my good friend Eric, that we need to play more music, but let’s not overshadow and block other artists from coming to Kenya.”
Lastly, he encouraged Kenyan Gospel artists to not change course and keeping singing for God, pointing out willy Paul as being the best in his days, urging him to turn his ways.
“I would like to reach out to willy Paul now that am here, there are people that are inspired by your word your ministry, come back home.”
