Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has brushed off threats that have been directed to Raila Odinga.
Sifuna has said that nothing will come out of the threat letter that has been sent by Chebukati’s lawyer, Steve Ogolla.
Sifuna then extended this to his twitter page, saying that they will not be shaken and that the lawyer is just taking advantage of Chebukati’s retirement money.
“Save for legal fees, nothing else will come from that legal adventure.”
“All Steve Ogolla is doing is what lawyers do best. Helping Chebukati spend that hefty retirement package he received from the taxpayer.”
The Former IEBC Chairman Chebukati has written a letter urging Raila to produce the video footage of him, as he claimed to be in possession of it while addressing the gathering at jacaranda grounds on Sunday.
Raila said that Chebukati had visited him at his homestead together with some two other commissioners who wanted him to hand them something to appease them.
Raila has been given 7 days to respond and give the evidence he claims to be in possession of or legal action will be taken against him.
“We shall take such action as necessary to protect our client’s right to access to information by dint of Article 35(1)(b) of the constitution without further reference to you whatsoever,”
Raila is yet to respond to this.
