“Did you have your life figured out at 23?” asked one of her fans during her Q&A on Instagram.
A question that led her into opening up about her marriage and regret.
“23 was too young to do some of the things I did,’’ answered the blogger.
Sharon Mundia, is an award-winning fashion and lifestyle blogger who is known for her blog, popularly known as “This Is Ess”.
The blogger was married to one Lonina Leteipan, a businessman who romantically proposed to Mundia after a chopper ride to Mt. Kenya, by a lake in 2015. Later, the couple tied the knot in a wedding ceremony in 2016. They were later blessed with a daughter before their break-up in 2017.
Four years after the breakup, the mother of one highlighted about how her view on marriage has completely changed,
“Yes my relationship with a constructive marriage has changed, growing up I was very excited to get married and specifically the wedding, now I am more interested in a safe, healthy, mutually beneficial relationship with the one. I am not so attached to marriage.”
However, the divorce caught many by surprise and brought mixed reactions to her fans as this was a life-changing moment for the blogger.
According to different sites, her divorce was due to lesbianism claims which led to a fan also questioning her if she has ever been in a romantic relationship with a woman.
Responding to the fan, Mundia said she doesn’t think she would ever date a woman but hopes same-sex marriage gets legalized in Kenya.
“I have never been in a relationship with a woman. If I think of my significant other I visualize what the future looks like it’s a man next to me but I do wish we could legalize it here in Kenya. I wish people could be with and marry whoever they want to marry,” she said.
Sharon, said that one of the honest conversations she has ever had led her to think of how she had approached her life in her 20s. She said that she was too young to approach her life the way she did at 23.
‘I had no idea what I was doing with my career, the man I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with wasn’t in my life anymore, my closest friends weren’t in the country.”
