Senator Karen Nyamu recently shared her thoughts on the ongoing dispute between Pritty Vishy and Bishop Ben Kiengei. Since stepping into the spotlight in 2017, Nyamu has been no stranger to social media comments.
She said she often receives a wide range of feedback, and while some comments are tough, she views them as opportunities to improve. For instance, Nyamu mentioned that she took extra care to understand the Finance Bill 2024 before commenting, showing her commitment to being well-informed.
“Hahaha, unajua kwanini nacheka, me huambiwa vitu mingi hapa social media since I got to the limelight in 2017. All kinds of things. Mostly I notice when it’s facts, and I improve myself. Like when I commented on the finance bill 2024 before I had bothered to familiarize myself with it. I made sure to take my time to thoroughly read up on its provisions, karibu nikue consultan.” Karen Nyamu wrote.
Nyamu’s Response to the Apology and Vishy’s Situation
Nyamu also addressed the call for her to support the girl child in the Vishy and Kiengei conflict. She explained that she recently saw a video where Vishy mentioned her, which surprised her since she has always liked Vishy. However, she was disappointed by the negative remarks Vishy made about her, which made her realize that the love wasn’t mutual.
“Hehe, so sometime back, I saw notifications on Instagram that Prity Vishy had mentioned me. I was curious because I actually like her. Wueh, kalikua kamenitusi kweli kweli kwa video posted by a blogger. Na nikaskia kidogo disappointed that the love wasn’t mutual.” She said.
In response to Bishop Kiengei’s apology, Nyamu noted that Kiengei had publicly expressed regret for his comments. Kiengei admitted, “I am really sorry, and I take this moment to highly apologize for mentioning you in the wrong way. I went overboard and addressed you inappropriately.”
While Nyamu recognized Kiengei’s apology, she humorously pointed out that she wasn’t expecting an apology from Vishy. She noted that despite the drama, she remains focused on moving forward and isn’t overly concerned about the personal conflict.
Nana Owiti’s Take on the Situation
Adding to the discussion, influencer and TV host Nana Owiti also voiced her concerns. Owiti expressed her shock at Kiengei’s comments, questioning how a clergyman could be so harsh towards someone who has openly shared her struggles with self-esteem.
She was particularly upset with the interviewer, who laughed along while Kiengei made derogatory remarks. Owiti stressed the importance of holding each other accountable and reassured Vishy, saying,“You are beautiful, and the world is better because you are in it. Sending you lots of hugs.”
