Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has shared a hilarious message that he received from one of the citizens after his phone was leaked online.
During the conversation on the passing of the bill, numerous phone numbers of members of parliament were leaked online; with an aim to convince them not to vote for the finance bill 2024.
Sakaja, shared on his X account one of the messages that he received;
”Hi governor mjamo. Can you adopt a 25 year old bouncing baby girl?,” the message read.
In response, Sakaja claimed the Gen Z’s are now taking things too far.
”Gen-Z bana. Hizi number mnatumia vibaya sasa,” Sakaja wrote
MPs Complaints
Individual MPs such as Mumias East MP Peter Salasya claimed to have received numerous messages.
“There are almost 5,000 numbers here calling me. And some are Kenya Kwanza supporters calling me after they voted for President William Ruto. Why disturb me when I am an Azimio member?” Salasya stated, explaining that his vote was non-consequential, “From where I sit, even if I say I do not want to vote yes, as long as Kenya Kwanza people vote yes, they have numbers. There is nothing I can do.”
Thousands of Kenyans on Thursday bombarded lawmakers with thousands of text messages to reject the Finance Bill 2024. Some of the MPs weren’t tardy in listening to the citizen’s grievances.
