Sakaja Responds to Rigathi Gachagua following criticism over failed leadership

Nairobi Governor Johnson Arthur Sakaja has responded to Kenya’s deputy President claims over failed leadership in Nairobi.

Speaking at a gathering, Deputy President (DP) Hon. Rigathi Gachagua appeared to involve President William Ruto in the murky waters of Nairobi politics by promising to include him in monitoring the leadership and development progress in Nairobi.

Rigathi, who was in Lang’ata, assured the public that he would be looking into Nairobi City affairs more than ever alongside the President.

“And I am going to take a keen interest in the political development in the city…because Nairobi is the capital city in Kenya and is too important to be left like that.

Mambo ya Nairobi, Rais na mimi lazima tuhakikishe inaendelea sawa, and we will do so because we are stakeholders in this city.” Gachagua said.

Relationship between DP. Rigathi Gachagua and Sakaja

The relationship between Deputy President Hon. Rigathi Gachagua and Nairobi Governor Hon. Johnson Sakaja appears to have irreversibly soured, with the latest incident occurring when the city boss directly responded to the deputy regarding remarks made earlier in Lang’ata.

Nairobi Governor Hon. Johnson Sakaja responded that people should refrain from creating issues where none exist, adding that he is certain Gachagua does not aspire to be Nairobi Governor and that he is not interested in the Deputy President position as he respects his position and what he does.

“I have no differences with the deputy president. He is a senior man who is respected; he has been in politics, and even though he got us into politics after us, he came in and became popular. He is a good leader who should be respected.

Siasa ni siasa mimi sitaki kua naibu wa rais ana yeye hataki kua Governor so ni tofauti. Mi nampa heshima yake tunafanya vizuri.” Sakaja clarified that he doesn’t have any differences with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
