The Kenyan President has openly discussed the challenges the country is facing.
Speaking during the roundtable at State House, President Ruto said that the biggest challenge the country has leaders who were elected out of how well resourced they are rather than how well equipped they are to run the country.
“Believe me, all these MPs were elected by us, the people of Kenya.
And you will all admit that there’s a lot of money spent in electing people; that’s the real challenge that we have, so people are not elected; largely on account of what it is they will do, they are elected because they are well resourced, and unfortunately, this is the product we end up with.” President Ruto said.

He goes on to urge the public that the incompetent leaders who are not delivering are not to blame because he never elected them at the first place.
He, however, urged the leaders to ensure that they have deliverables and serve the people of Kenya, and that starts with ensuring that everyone lives within their means; that way, the public won’t have to be taxed more.
