Rosa Ree Explains in Detail On What ‘Rose Coco’ Term Means

Tanzanian rapper Rosa Ree has explained in detail what the term Rose Coco means, having used it in a track before.

Rosa Ree

Speaking in an interview with the press yesterday at the outskirts of Nairobi, she explained how the term ‘Rose Coco’ came into being, saying that the first time she heard of that name was when she was going through her comment section when she spotted the name that several people were referring her to.

“Neno la Rose Coco nimeliona kwenye comment nyingi sana watu walikua wananitukana nakuniita.”

(I realized the term Rose Coco from the comment section because people were trolling me with it.)

As per her understanding, Rose Coco is a type of bean, and from the research on the internet, Rose Coco is basically a type of bean that people enjoy taking with chapati, but according to Kenyans, the word has been given a different meaning as of now. Rosa Ree proceeded, admitting that despite the criticism from the public with the word, she never minded and instead opted to take the opportunity to release a song that praises the name and what it means to have it.

“Kwangu mimi sikuiona kama ni tusi kwa sababu ambacho niko nacho. Lakini pia ni kitu ambacho kimetuleta sisi wote duniani.”

Adding to that, it is clearly absurd to insult someone with their strength.

According to her, Rose Coco is what made it possible that everybody got to see the light of the world by being born, and anyone who is criticizing women because they have it is clearly out of their mind.

The Tanzanian artist took the opportunity to walk into the studio and record a track aimed at congratulating the women and encouraging them that they are of great value in society and shouldn’t let anyone intimidate them.

“Basically, it is a movement… That’s why I wanted to empower my fellow women that Rose Coco is a strength; it is not a weakness.”

Rosa Ree released the Rose Coco track song that’s on YouTube like a week ago, and it has over 150,000 views, with many congratulating her on the level of creativity that she has.
