Kenyan President William Ruto has apologized to his daughter for not allowing her to pursue a film course that she had intended to take.
This is after President Ruto paid a visit to the US and saw the value of film.
President Ruto, who is on a four-day tour in the United States, was addressing a gathering in Atlanta, Georgia, when he apologized for not letting his daughter pursue the course of her dreams eight years ago.
“I now understand that about 8 years ago, my daughter and she’s around, asked me, ‘You know I want to film’. So….I looked at her. What did you say? I must apologize to her today. She was right, and I was wrong.
“Because today, while we were going around, she told me, Do you see what I told you? And it’s completely different,” Ruto said on a light note.
President Ruto said that the visit at the states and the presence of high end creatives and film makers like: Steve Harvey has helped them a great deal as it will help change the trajectory of how film is perceived back in his mother land Kenya.
“This is going to change our trajectory because we are going to plan more and I want to be grateful for the people on this table……” President Ruto said.
