President William Ruto is disenchanted with the anti-government protests that have been ongoing for a couple of weeks now.
The president had to change his decision on the finance bill after the demonstrations’ exodus became more intense.
It escalated to a point where youths lost their lives while taking to the streets.
Apart from the finance bill being rejected, the president was also forced to fire dozens of cabinet secretaries from the ministry.

Ruto’s message to Gen Z’s
The young people, who have been referred to as Gen Z’s, have been on the frontline when it comes to voicing out the wrongs of the government.
They have made demands that have been met by the president after marching to the streets majestically.
For the latter, the Gen Z’s have been hailed as heroes.
However, the president believes that they have now said enough and they shouldn’t take to the streets to protest again.
He admonished the Gen Z’s through his speech that they should put their country first rather than making rash decisions;
”Enough is enough! My friends. I have given a chance to everybody to say whatever they want. It cannot continue like this. The country is much more important than any group of people. We must come together to protect our nation and make sure Kenya is a democracy,” the president said.
The comment section was filled with numerous reactions. Some have supported the president’s sentiments while others believe he should listen to the grievances of the people.
