Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto has shared an intriguing message to political leaders.

Speaking at the Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi during his Labour Day address speech, the President insisted on reminding all government leaders holding a position in office to concentrate on working for the people of Kenya rather than trying hard to be famous by doing controversial things.

We must be brutally honest with one another, hakuna haja ya kudanganya!.

Hakuna haja ya kutafuta umaarufu because those of us who are elected as leaders are not elected to be popular; we are elected to serve and to transform our country and work for those who voted for us
.” President Ruto shared.

He went on, adding that he finds it strange to see the amount of time some leaders dedicate to wanting to be popular being more than the time they use in trying to make a difference in the county.

This comes after a number of notable leaders have been seen doing controversial things so that they may be popular and compete with other celebrities. One of the leaders who is going out of their ways and will stop at nothing to go viral is Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, who even recently joined TikTok, urging his fans to ‘Tap Tap‘ a saying used in TikTok so that fans can send you gifts.
