Kenyan President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have promised the residents of Eastleigh that they will be considered and harm will not befall them.
Speaking during their Iftar dinner Invitation yesterday by the Eastleigh Business community. President William Ruto apologized to the residents, assuring them that no such thing will ever happen to them again.
“Poleni ule rafiki yangu alikuja huku kwenu na akaandamana na watu amabao walikuja kuibia nyinyi masimu.
Nataka niwahakikishie hiyo mambo yote tumekomesha na tumesema hiyo maneno tupeleke huko bunge tuwache vita tuendelee kama watu wa kenya.”
He assured them that he stands with them, assuring them that chaos ruin the good will amongst people, and he will keep advocating for peace.
He also urged residents to stick and work together to achieve the common goal that they all have, which is to make Kenya work.
This was seconded by his deputy President who assured residents that if the opposition party ever think of resuming to their normal demonstrations they will not step foot on their land nor access the Central Business District of Nairobi.
He also encouraged them to keep working and expand their business, as the Government will offer them their support.
The Azimio leader Raila Odinga and his team halted their demonstrations to hold peaceful amends with the president that he promised If they are not met, or they don’t settle on a common interest that works for the both of them and the public, then they will get back to the streets.
Raila was demonstrating the High cost of living, To stop recruitment of the IEBC Commissions and for the server to be opened.
