Physically challenged MP narrates encounter with protestors after his colleagues abandoned him in parliament

Published on

Physically challenged legislator Bishop Jackson Kosgei was left alone by fellow MPs who took off after protesters stormed the Parliament buildings, setting section of it on fire following rejectfinancebill2024.

According to the nominated MP, his colleagues did not think twice while leaving him behind his wheelchair knowing very well that the protestors had gained access to the parliament building and unlike them – he wouldn’t much in terms of hiding seeing that his legs don’t work.

However to his surprise the protestors did not harm nor did they steal from him as they chose to help him out of the building; a move he says was humbling and above all kind from the same youngins being painted as criminals.

“Well my experience that I had with them is that um although amid expression of anger, they expressed human face because when they came in they said mzee we know you, where you voted, and we know you, we know you as a good man,” he narrated.

They are our children

Unlike the propaganda circulating about the Gen Z protestors, MP Jackson Kosgei revealed these young people did not care whether or not he voted in the Finance Bill 2024, as they only showed concern for his safety.

So they said the question of where you voted and so on is not an issue because now that one tells is a human face, being and so they said we want to help you out because what might happen here may not be good for you, Kosgei said adding;

So then they walked us out with hon colleague called Rose Museo. and we came out that is why they escorted us out.

Having dealt with them first hand, the MP asked those in power to pay attention to their grievances saying ignorance could be the reason why most of these youths have been overreacting as they just want to be heard.

I saw they are our children and the anger that came in I only pray that it is not hijacked by anything else. But it is genuine they need to be listened. That’s why the President took a step and listened to them and stepped down on that issue. He said.
