The tragic helicopter crash that claimed the life of Kenya’s Defence Chief, General Francis Ogolla, and other senior military officials has been trending recently.

Longstanding Insecurity in the Rift Valley

The ongoing security challenges in Kenya’s Rift Valley region, where armed bandits and cattle rustlers pose a threat has been highlighted in relation to the death of the military officials.

Below is a list of those who were involved in the accident.

“The helicopter burst into flames after crashing and it had more than 10 senior commanders on board including General Ogolla,” a police officer had told AFP earlier.
