Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has been roped in to the conversation of a recent report that he donated an exorbitant amount of money to church.
Responding to Boni Khalwale, Sudi maintained that it was a collective effort by the congregants that enabled them to contribute a huge sum of money. He further claimed that it’s possible for congregants to raise more money than the quoted amount.
“Inawezekananje wewe unaongea hii uongo mchana? Yaani haumini watu wa kanisa tukiungana tunaweza changa hata Sh50M? Khalwale na wale wote wananikashifu, 20 million ilikuwa pesa yote ya mchango. Kanisa ilikuwa imechanga Sh14M. Ya juu tukaongezea mimi na marafiki na watu wengine,” he said.

Wealth before politics
Apart from that, Sudi went ahead to calibrate that he was working even before joining politics; and that he bought his first luxurious car at just 22 years.
”To Boni Khalwale, all my wealth has been through sheer hard work. But some rely on sorcerers for overnight riches. Nimekuwa nikifanya kazi before nikuwe mbunge… I bought my first Range Rover when I was 22 years. Mnataka tutembee mguu wote?”
Amid all these controversies, Sudi made a decision to take a sabbatical leave.
“Going forward, I’ll not participate in any Harambee because it has been used to malign and disparage the good cause—let it be banned. Thus the current happenings in the country call for introspection and consequently, I’m taking a sabbatical leave from public engagements.”
For voting ‘yes’ to the finance bill, Sudi’s club was reportedly vandalized during last week’s demonstrations by angry protesters; who made away with goods worth hundreds of thousands.
