Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development, Wycliffe Oparanya, recently amused fans at his event celebrating his appointment as a CS.
In the event, Oparanya was conspicuously happy, with his wives in tow.
He couldn’t eschew introducing them once again to the public.
He started off by gushing over his first wife, citing that she was the one who took care of him before and during his success.
“This is the first lady, the foundation of this home. This is the woman I started life with. The others have come along because this one has groomed and cared for me. This first lady is from Busia, which explains why many of my in-laws from Busia are here today. I am deeply grateful to her for protecting me and this entire family. In my absence, she is in charge,” he added.
He further went to his second wife monikered Sharon;
“She ensures that we are well taken care of and that I am in good health. Her name is Sharon Wakhu Oparanya, and she resides in Runda. If you hear I am in Runda, that’s where I am,” he said.

Oparanya’s drive to polygamy
As the sole surviving child of his family, Oparanya was encouraged by his mother to have a large family as a way of compensating for the siblings he lost. She instilled in him the values of sincerity and family, which have shaped his views on relationships.
“My mother used to tell me to have more children when I grow up to make up for what she could have had,” Oparanya recalled.
However, Oparanya’s decision to have multiple wives was also influenced by his demanding political career. With both wives living in different locations, he found it challenging for them to accompany him on his frequent travels.
