He argued that everyone should pay taxes because it is the moral thing to do and that they shouldn’t object to the proposal.
He also talked about him being in the Statehouse, saying that it is his patriotic duty to uphold leadership. Adding that this role has nothing to do with siding with anyone and that he is simply doing what is right to set an example for others to follow.
He denied claims that he accepted money in exchange for favors.
He denied claims that he had been bought off, saying that instead of focusing on untrue claims, the people should consider the wider picture and how paying taxes will benefit them.
“Hiyo mambo ya kununuliwa kwanza hiyo ni ngumu kidogo…..where I stand with the housing bill and I even told it at the launch of Talanta Hela that I am okay with it.”
According to Guardian Angel, he has no issue paying taxes If it is going to help people so that they can benefit and have a roof over their heads.
“Kama ni opportunity maisha yako ibadilike na nikatwe mshahara kidogo… sioni ubaya wa hiyo.”
