Nyaboke Moraa Honors her Late Daughter with Heartfelt Tribute

Kenyan actress Nyaboke Moraa and her ex-partner, Blak Aende, recently held a touching memorial service for their late daughter, Marrie Achieng, at CITAM Embakasi.

At the memorial, Nyaboke Moraa shared deeply personal reflections about her late daughter for the first time since Marrie’s passing.

“I first met Marrie in 2005 at exactly 3 PM. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen,” Nyaboke began, her voice trembling with emotion. ”

Nyaboke reminisced about the early days with Marrie, highlighting moments of both joy and difficulty. She mentioned that when Marrie cried, she would often cry as well, leaving her father wondering whom he should comfort first.

“I and the father were very excited and were really waiting for her. I gave birth to her when I was still in my teens. She used to cry and would also start crying, and the father would ask, Sasa mkilia wote ntabembeleza nani?” Nyaboke said.

Cherishing Precious Memories

The actor shared how she and her daughter had created beautiful memories, expressing that she doesn’t know how she will be able to let go of her.

“We had very, very beautiful memories. My heart is broken. I do not know how I am going to release my child. I remember a times I would go through so much and she would find me broken in the bedroom and tell me, Mum, hukuangi mtu mbaya ni watu tu wako mawe ndio wabaya. Marrie was a good child,” she said amid tears.

Moreover, Nyaboke’s sorrow was evident as she discussed the ongoing struggle of accepting her daughter’s death.

“My heart is broken…”I don’t know how I am going to tell my child to rest in peace . I still haven’t come to terms with her passing and simply don’t have the energy to say goodbye,” she said.

Marrie’s father also shared that, instead of dwelling on the pain of losing his daughter, he chose to celebrate their happiest moments together. Therefore, he focused on the joy they shared, allowing it to overshadow the tragedy.

Celebrating Marrie’s vibrant spirit

During the memorial, Marrie’s childhood friend delivered a heartfelt eulogy, emphasizing Marrie’s warm personality and sense of humor.

Debra, who had known Marrie since primary school, fondly referred to her as a “walking and talking bundle of joy with a touch of chaos.”

She reminisced about their first meeting, noting how Marrie made her feel instantly welcome. Furthermore, their friendship continued to flourish long after high school.

“From the first day we met, you made me feel welcome. Our friendship continued even when we reunited in high school, and our bond only grew stronger.” Debra said, reflecting on the special connection they shared.
