Nviiri the storyteller is a Kenyan Artist whose popularly known for his good music, especially NIKITA that was making headlines in the previous year.
Nviiri has decided to address the dreadlocs saga in the society saying that it’s high time people stop being judgmental on it. Insisting that it is part of the attire it’s also like an hair design, and it shouldn’t be discouraged nor termed as a bad style.
He has written down his perception on locs on his Insta story wanting to understand why it’s so bad when one has locs and said that it is very wrong that they only thing that Africans hold is also being gotten rid of.
“How is that the one thing that we can proudly own as Africans, OUR HAIR is also weaponized and used against us.”
He went on saying that it’s the colonization from the western that has got Africans wanting to change their culture and keep on being under siege and adhering to what they are being told to do.
“We are so brainwashed by the west to a point where we have lost our identity and literally afraid to be part of it.”
Insisting on wanting to see new reinforced laws that support and preserve the African Culture. He also said that If this is embraced, it will help many Africans as it will create job opportunities for the fashion Industry.
Lastly, concluded with urging the public to accept their place as it is the only way that they will succeed in life.
