‘None of bodies recovered from Kware had bullet wounds’ – Government pathologist Johansen Oduor

Published on

At least 13 bodies have been unearthed from a dump site in Mukuru slums, Nairobi, Kenya. Authorities are investigating a possible serial killer linked to the deaths of 42 women.

Cause of Death Unclear for Decomposed Bodies

Chief government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor reported a mix of injuries among the recovered remains. While one body showed signs of strangulation, another had head trauma. However, decomposition hampered efforts to determine the cause of death for many bodies.

Dr. Oduor revealed that several body parts, including limbs and torsos, were found at the site. This makes identification a significant hurdle in the ongoing investigation.

He concluded that there were no bullet wounds or traces on the bodies of the victims.

Suspect’s House Searched, Items Implicate Him

Police raided the residence of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the prime suspect in the killings. They recovered a disturbing arsenal of items, including a bloodstained hammer, pliers, knives, and a gunny bag. Additionally, they found a mattress, pillow, and bloodstained clothing, suggesting his house served as the primary crime scene.

Confession Reveals Horrific Details

Khalusha reportedly confessed to murdering at least 42 women, targeting them in the slums and luring them to his house. He claimed to strangle his victims and dismember their bodies before dumping them at the nearby dump site. The investigation suggests a chilling pattern, with the latest murder occurring just a day before the discovery of the bodies.

Police Seek to Identify Victims and Apprehend Accomplices

Authorities are working to identify the victims and understand the extent of Khalusha’s crimes. He claims to have killed over 20 women in 2023 alone. Additionally, police arrested two other suspects potentially connected to the murders.
