Njugush shares why he decided to venture into the Matatu Business

Kenyan creative Timothy Kimani, famously known as ‘Njugush’, has shared the reason why he decided to venture into Matatu business.

Speaking to our own journalist, Silvakido, he said he thought of trying the matatu business because the art he does isn’t consistent because sometimes there are no returns, and if it happens and you only rely on one thing alone, you just might end up being frustrated.

This is the way to go because, art vile huwa kuna time inakuanga imeshoot juu na time inashoot down, so it will be well to use this time when it is not doing well to try doing something else so that in case we end up in such a scenario ever again, we will have another option,” Njugush explained.

Njugush, who used to act in the Real House Helps of Kawangware TV series alongside other creatives like Dj Shiti and Sandra, dropped it and ended up doing content for his own, posting it on his social media platforms and YouTube, which has won the hearts of many. He also does the Through Thick and Thin show, which he performs alongside his wife Celestine Ndinda, which has been the talk of town lately. They are currently selling tickets for their upcoming fifth show, which will take place on July 27th at the Sarit Expo Centre.

Other celebrities with Matatus
Apart from Njugush, other celebrities who have invested in Matatu business are Jimal Roho Safi, the chairman of the Matatu Association Board, popularly known as Jamal Roho Safi, who is an investor and team leader, especially in Nairobi’s public transport sector and Willy Paul.

Jimal initiated the cashless system of payment for efficiency and to weed out corruption in a sector riddled with questions about its surroundings and integrity.

Mr. Jamal is also fully in support of sector reforms, especially the ones touching on decongesting the city. He started the matatu business with as little as 420,000 ksh and admitted to having over 7 saccos that are working for him.

I have seven Saccos operating in and outside Nairobi and 16 PSVs for both short- and long-distance travel, Jimal shared a while back.
