Kenyan Artist Nikita Kering has explained the reason why Kenyan music doesn’t have an identity.
The Award-winning artist has said that it is because of colonization, making it lack its originate sound.
Speaking on a video shared online, she was trying to explain how she wouldn’t understand the Kenyan music because of the colonization that she believes messed the artists up.
“If Kenyan Music was to hit, we still don’t know what Kenyan music is. I think we were heavily colonized that our music identity didn’t even show.”
Even at a young age, Nikita Kering was still able to bag home an award for the best female artist of the year.
Last year, she Performed at BBC 1Xtra Afro beats concerto, an event that was hosted to support and promote black culture, her performing is something said she had been praying and hoping for that she will accomplish someday.
Having gotten all this exposure and fame at a very young age makes her be the very best among the rest and grow her career.
Her song that she is known for is EX that was released a year ago and the one she performed at the BBC 1xtra concerto, has over 6million views on her YouTube channel.
