Viral Nairobian ‘Bird Man’ went viral during the 2024 finance bill protests for walking around with his birds on his head.
Speaking during a brief interview with Citizen TV Kenya, he admitted that he is well educated; it is only that he has not gotten that chance to show what he can do, adding that he has done quite a number of short courses that can get him a job, saying his background also contributes to him being on the streets and staying jobless.
“Background, ile design unaeza ishi na single parent unfortunately apass… But Mimi nilisoma hadi form four: nimefanya short courses, nimefanya short courses kama ICT, Financial Literacy, SLS, First Aid, CBR, and Cyber Security.

He believes that someday he will get a formal job and give it his best having been educated and be able to start a new chapter in his life.

How he met his bird
Rodgers has become a popular figure in the streets of Nairobi more especially these recent times when he was spotted during the protests with his birds.
Through an interview he had with Citizen Digital way back, Rodgers narrated how he met his bird, saying he saw it near a supermarket, approached it cautiously, and offered to help it with food and shelter. It was from then that the two became buddies and forged an unbreakable bond that still runs deep.
Despite him being in the streets and some how homeless, he at least has creatures he can call family because they almost spend the entire time together as the birds will always be where he is.
