Narok County Senator Olekina Ledama defends Nairobi Governor Johnson Arthur Sakaja from public criticism following the floods in Nairobi.
Speaking in the Vybez Radio show, Olekina urged the public to be considerate of the governor, as he is not the reason to blame since he also picked leadership from other leaders who were initially governing the city their way.
“Kwani Sakaja alikua Governor 20 years kwani hii mashida yote ilianza last year wakati Sakaja alikuja?
Huyu ni msee pia ako na shida zake, it’s not fair as a human being to put all the freaking nightmares on one man, kwani yeye ndio because of floods?
He goes on to urge the public to set aside any personal differences they may have against him and allow the governor to try to work it out, rather than calling him out and criticizing his county government.
“Let’s call a spade a spade and separate facts from fiction. Let’s be honest and set aside personal differences.” Ole Kina defended the Nairobi Governor.
Why the Public is Criticizing Nairobi Governor Sakaja
The Nairobi Governor is under pressure since many believe he is ineffective and incompetent. Nairobi County is one of the counties experiencing floods that are sweeping everything in their path. Due to inadequate drainage, the city has experienced flooding that has caused roadblocks, property destruction, and commercial disruptions, such as the incident witnessed at the JKIA airport.
Among the people calling out the Nairobi governor was political activist Eric Omondi. The comedian recently called out Sakaja for not being there when residents of Nairobi needed him the most.
The governor has, however, stepped in, as he recently visited Mathare residents who had been affected by floods and made donations amongst other household items.

The public has been advised to brace themselves and try as much as possible to see that they shelter from the heavy rains and avoid walking directly to the unmerciful floods.
