Mwalimu Rachel has opened up revealing that she has since turn down two job offers from Radio Africa.
Speaking to presenter Kalondu, the popular radio presenter revealed that before joining Kiss FM in 2024 – the media group had previously tried hiring her; however at the time she felt not ready for the part.
According to Mwalimu Rachel this happened shortly after she joined HBR, meaning she still had to create a name for herself – seeing how fast her show was growing.

“The first time Kiss wanted me to join their team, I was still at HomeBoyz, which was a rival station at the time. My show was flourishing, and they were asking me to jump ship,” Rachel said.
The lady went on to reveal that despite turning town the first offer, Radio Africa kept tempting her as they increased the salary offer – but again, she still said no.
“I looked at it and still said no. Something was telling me it’s not the right time. They came for me twice and with every offer they increased the salary offer. It was very tempting, but I felt I hadn’t given my all to the show, which was just starting to make a name for itself… I had not expressed as much as I wanted to. So I said no to the money, Rachel went on to add.
Finally at Kiss FM
Having gained enough experience, Mwalimu Rachel says joining Radio Africa in 2024 was ideal for both her and career.
This is because she now understands the radio business better and above all, understands how to handle a huge younger crowd looking up to her.
The time was right. Everything sort of aligned. I am in that period where you can see I am transitioning. I have more to offer because I am now getting into a new space in my life, Mwalimu said adding;
I’m older so I can offer more sound advice to young people. I can speak in the space of a presenter, a businesswoman, a mother, and a career woman, and somebody who still aspires for more in life.
