Speaking via a video she shared online, Murugi Munyi recalled a moment when she was using Pesapal in making the transactions, but apparently she entered the wrong numbers at the very end, which resulted to her transacting 100,00 Ksh to the wrong number. This is because she was doing the transactions when she was very tired and sleepy.

“Usually with Pesapal, you have like two or three different messages where they tell you if you are sure you are sending this message… Imagine I was so sleepy that I never saw my name, Joanne Munyi, and instead it was saying another person’s name, Wafula.

I realized things were not okay when it took a long time to send a message back.

Munyi went on narrating the flow of events saying that she had what she described as ‘anxiety diarrhoea’ because she was literally losing it.

She, however, emailed Pesapal, who asked her to write an email to them and leave it to them to process after having lost hope that the money had gone and there was no way she was going to get it back.

Pesa Pal emailed her few moments later, telling her that they had successfully managed to reverse the money to her Pesa Pal account. She fell down on her knees and started praying.

From then she told herself at no given point will she ever transact any amount if she is not feeling okay nor in the right state because then she might just end up committing the same mistake she made urging the public to be very mindful when it comes to make any transactions whether small or big
