Activist Morara Kebaso’s efforts received a significant boost on Tuesday after he was gifted a luxurious mansion, which will now serve as the nerve centre for his operations. The mansion, located in Kahawa Sukari, was donated by a family friend living abroad, offering a new base for Kebaso’s activism.
In a social media post, the activist expressed his gratitude for the donation, explaining how the house would be utilized. “A family friend who lives abroad has offered to donate a house in Kahawa Sukari to be our office headquarters and base of operations,” Kebaso shared.
The house, according to Kebaso, will be used to coordinate his activities, including inspections of government projects and mobilization efforts. He also noted that he would only need to pay a small service charge to maintain the property.
This comes just days after Kebaso hinted at plans to register a political party aimed at advocating for the interests of young people, particularly the Gen Z demographic. “Young people need a stronger voice in this country. We are considering forming a political movement that will champion the rights of the youth,” Kebaso mentioned.
The activist has gained national attention in recent months for his outspoken stance on government accountability, specifically his audits of stalled government projects. These efforts have not come without controversy. His bold criticism of top government officials has occasionally led to public confrontations. For instance, during a live interview, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed had to call in to dismiss claims Kebaso made about President William Ruto reaching out to him personally due to his work.
