The prosecution preferred several charges against Kebaso, including cyber harassment contrary to Section 27 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act.
According to the charge sheet, on September 28, 2024, Kebaso, alongside his alleged accomplices, posted false information about David Langat on his X account. Kebaso arrested by DCI
Kebaso’s arrest came just a day after he was detained at his office by individuals believed to be detectives. A video circulated on social media showing the speeding DCI car; which was being followed closely by who were believed to be Kebaso’s allies.
Kebaso’s lawyer revealed that the legal team had been denied access to Kebaso at the Nairobi Regional Headquarters.
“They have restricted access and have strict instructions from the top not to allow any person to access Morara including lawyers, media personnel, and any other persons,” the lawyer stated.
The lawyer criticized the police for their actions, saying they had no respect for the constitution or the rule of law.

Kebaso has now been released on a cash bail of Ksh50,000 moments after being arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts.
