Rising Star with Sailors Gang
In 2017, Peter, along with his bandmates, burst onto the music scene with Sailors Gang. Their infectious gengetone beats and catchy tunes like “Wakiritho” ft Octopizzo, “Pekejeng,” and “Wamlambez” had Kenyans dancing. The trio dominated the charts until 2021, when the genre’s popularity waned.
Shifting Gears: Mugithi and Marriage
With gengetone evolving into Arbantone, Sailors Gang disbanded. Peter, ever the creative spirit, ventured into Mugithi in 2020 with his wife Carol Katrue. Their love songs, including “Wendo Witetere” and “Kana Gaitu,” resonated with fans and became radio staples.
A Battle for Health
However, amidst his musical pursuits, a different challenge emerged. In 2018, persistent stomach issues plagued Peter, leading to multiple surgeries. For nearly five years, he bravely fought a relentless gastrointestinal condition, requiring ongoing medical care.
