Mejja reveals serious illness that his mum suffered when he started music (Video)

Renowned genge artist Mejja has divulged deep details on his mother, a few days after gushing over her for the immense support that she gave him while pursuing music. 

The singer, who has been in the entertaiment industry for several years, shared insight on the struggle that her mum was undergoing when he began his music career. 

Speaking in a recent interview with SPM Buzz, Mejja emotionally narrated about his mum being admitted in hospital when he was just beginning his musical career.

”Ata mama yangu hakukuwa anajua najua kuimba, ata my classmates,” he started off.

Mejja continued;

”Nikianza career yangu my mum alikuwa ameshikwa na brain tumour. Ilikuwa worse. Ata hio time alikuwa amelazwa. Mama yangu aliniona nikiimba kwa TV, akiwa hospitali.”

Passion for music

He further calibrated that it didn’t mean that he wasn’t receiving support, but it was his confidence that was pulling him back. 

”Si ati hawakuni support, ni kwa sababu pia sikukuwa na confidence. 

Further, Mejja reminisced his mother’s feeling after seeing him on television singing;

”Alishtuka sana juu ndio alikuwa ameanza ku recover. Alikuwa na wasiwasi kwa sababu alikuwa anashangaa sana. Lakini nilikuwa napenda kuandika ngoma nyuma ya ploti. Apo ndio nilipata hakuna makelele.

The musician continued sharpening his skills and finally made it to the music industry successfully. He remains among the legendary artists that are still relevant when it comes to music.
