Kenyan uprising youngest MC Gogo has shared the challenges that come with being a young, handsome MC.
Speaking at an interview with Mungai Eve, McGogo said one of the challenges he faces is being asked to get drunk and take as many shots as possible while performing.
“Watu wananitempt daily… But for me, I don’t, ningekuwa msee wa shots ningekua nazima daily. Kuna wasee hukupenda na hawataki kukuona sober. I usually get like 20 people offering me shots.”
The young talented teenager clarified that it is the job discipline that has helped him keep in line and not abuse alcohol, as drinking it will make him lose it because he doesn’t like the effects that come with getting drunk.
“There was a point in life when I was drinking… Nishaionja nikakua like hii kitu ni kali banaa mnapambana nayo na iko na hangover mambo mingi haiwezi… Mimi ni mtu wa vitu tamu tamu kama maziwa na juice.
And I feel like it is the discipline that comes with the job—too much of something is poisonous. Ukiingia hiyo kazi ni kama ni sherehe itakulemea… It is actually like any other work, and I cannot be wasting myself; I am working.” McGogo said.
McGogo said that as an MC, you shouldn’t take things seriously, especially the negative words that the public you are performing for because they’re intoxicated and in their right minds they wouldn’t say that.
Another challenge he faces with being an MC is being confronted randomly by ladies.
“Wanawake ndio challenge kubwa!…They want to steal you they always want to run with you, Saa zingine ladies wanaamuanga tuh wakusumbue akili for no reason and a times people fail to understand you.
Ladies temptations ni crazy and hard mtu anaku tempt akiwa kwa audience anakupea signals unashindwa!!!! hadi wamama wako na packo…range rover! Up until kuna mwingine alinidm aty anataka kunibook!!! Booking haikua real ilikua booking ingine! but its fine nawapenda bado.”
