Young, talented actress Salem Joy Ohon has shared the struggles she has undergone in her career for the past 3 years.

The young, popular actress who was well known for her incredible acting skills in ‘Machachari Show has narrated how she often felt demoralized when her requests were being turned down time after time.

“My acting career began at ‘Machachari’ before it plateaued. Honestly, dealing with rejection after rejection really demoralized me.”

Even though that was pulling her down, she had supportive close friends and families that always had her back and kept encouraging and pushing her to not give up on her passion.

Joy goes on narrating the flow of events on the 2nd of March 2023, saying she recorded a monologue for a screenplay film called Salem that’s on Show Max, where she was very interested and hoping to land a role as one of the play’s cast members called ‘Rubi.

But because she was not certain about what she had already recorded at the moment, she almost erased it, were it not for her close friend Audrey’s advice that deleting the monologue would just make it worse, as how would she be able to get feedback, whether it was positive or negative?

“On March 2, 2023, in the evening, I was with my closest friend when I decided to finally record the monologue for Salem.

“I told her, let’s just pray about this before we start. We took over 6 tapes, and I was getting frustrated because this girl was like, “Eh, Rubi is mean and sassy. Be more sassy!” And I literally wanted to beat her. I muted and deleted the chat. I was even about to block the number until Audrey asked me, When you block the number, how will you know if you have gotten the role?”

Weeks later, after sending the monologue, she received a call telling her that she had been granted the role of Rubi’.

Without holding back her excitement, she promised herself to always invest in her talent and embrace the rejections as they come as they are lessons to take in, as well as thanking the team for considering her to be part of the team and promising to always give her best.

‘Rubi’ as a character has not only inspired many but also changed Joy and taught her to embrace her own personality and be yourself in anything that you do without having second thoughts about it.

She then concludes the post by extending her heartfelt gratitude to her supportive family that has held her since day one and telling the public that this is just the start of great things to come. Advising the public to embrace the little things, own them, and not give up on them.
