Kenyan Female artist Maandy has clapped back to online critics, saying that she sold herself to gain popularity.
Speaking at the listening party of Ndovu ni Kuu in Nairobi, she responded to the claims, saying that she worked her way up and didn’t get boosted by anyone.
Maandy also shared her relationship status, saying that she isn’t dating or engaged at the moment because she has targets she wants to accomplish and being in a relationship might distract her.
“Siku nitapata mtu nitamtanganza… Napenda Kazi yangu nitakua distracted na sitaki distractions saa huu.”
She also gave an insight into the kind of person she would love to be with, that is one who understands her line of work because it comes with a number of challenges and shortcomings.
“Naeza taka mtu pia ana understand my line of work, but it’s a bit complicated.”
Adding to that, his kind of guy should also be one who doesn’t do art and is neutral, as she does art as well.
Maandy will be hosting her first ever event even this year, on October 6th. She urged the public to turn up in numbers because she will be performing live with a ban and a couple of other Kenyan artists. The entrance fee will be 1,000 ksh.
