“I am deeply honored to share that I am now a global brand ambassador for the House of Chanel. It was wonderful to attend their Spring-Summer 2025 Ready-to-Wear show at the Grand Palais today. Merci beaucoup, @chanelofficial!” Nyong’o posted, highlighting her excitement.
Fashion and Advocacy
Lupita’s new role goes beyond simply endorsing beautiful clothing; she views it as a platform to foster discussions about diversity and inclusivity within the fashion industry. “The message that I bring naturally and deliberately to the role is that things have changed, and we don’t want them to go back to what they once were,” she explained.
Reflecting on her own experiences, Nyong’o shared, “When I was growing up, I didn’t see myself in ads for brands like this. Consequently, it resulted in me going through quite the identity crisis and feeling undervalued by the world.”
As a Chanel ambassador, she hopes to inspire young girls who may not have seen themselves represented in luxury fashion. “I would hope that there is a message for little girls… my work as an actor, author, and now a brand ambassador is a step toward changing that narrative,” she added.
