Liverpool extended their unbeaten start to the season with a resounding 3-0 victory over their rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Reds broke the deadlock in the 35th minute when Luis Diaz headed home a cross from Mohamed Salah, showcasing his clinical finishing. Manchester United had a chance to respond shortly after but were denied by a crucial save from Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Alisson.
Just before halftime, Diaz secured his brace, again assisted by Salah. The Liverpool forward calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner, doubling his team’s lead.
In the second half, Joshua Zirkzee tested Alisson with a powerful strike from outside the box, but the Brazilian goalkeeper remained unyielding. Liverpool sealed the win in the 56th minute with Salah scoring his first goal of the match, assisted by Dominik Szoboszlai.
Manchester United continued to push for a goal but were unable to break through Liverpool’s defense. Alisson made several more impressive saves, ensuring Liverpool’s clean sheet and their dominant victory.
