List of influencers who have boycotted working with Safaricom

Published on

Although Safaricom has distanced itself from claims to have provided information leading to the abduction of several vocal GenZ protestors and slowing down the internet, Kenyans on social media refuse to be ‘lied’ to.

As seen online, Peter Ndengwa who is the Safaricom’s CEO denied having any involvement with the abductions – claiming it adheres to the rules and regulations of protecting it’s customers privacy.

Safaricom does not disclose customer information or their location. We adhere to the laws of the land in terms of data privacy. He said in his long detailed video shared online.

However despite it’s effort to deny having helped the govt, Kenyans online have threatened to boycott the telecommunication company citing betrayal.

Influencers boycott Safaricom

So far we have had several influencers distancing themselves from Safaricom in support of ongoing rejectfinancebill2024.

Among them is X bigwig Kimanzi who wrote;

I am a Kenyan first before anything this is the passion that fuels me. @SafaricomPLC sided with the oppressors and that led to mass killings and abductions. Is it right ti work with a brand? No bag is bigger than human life. I cannot work with them anymore.

Ben Cyco also distanced himself as he wrote on x, I’m pulling my music from Skiza platform by @SafaricomPLC. It’s time to part ways with sympathizers.

Dennis Ombachi through his twitter account wrote; Twitter is finally back @LarryMadowo the North will remember. As for the green army on Waiyaki way, I won’t be working with you as you’re values and mine are not aligned.

Kate Actress wrote; PSA SILENCE IS BETRAYAL! i WILL NO LONGER BE WORKING WITH @SAFARICOMPLC as an influencer, not on our departed brothers blood!
