CNN International Correspondent Larry Madowo has criticized Kenya for not recognizing the achievements of marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge. While in Mexico City, Madowo noticed numerous statues and photos dedicated to Kipchoge, highlighting the international recognition he enjoys.
Madowo questioned why Kenya, Kipchoge’s home country, seems to overlook his accomplishments. In September 2022, Kipchoge broke the world record for the marathon at the BMW Berlin Marathon. Despite his numerous achievements, Kipchoge has faced cyberbullying and trolling, particularly after his recent withdrawal from the Olympic Games.
