The Kot5 aside edition is set to take place this Saturday at Ngong Road Arena.
The KOT5Aside is a tournament that brings together Kenyans on Twitter for a game of football.
The tournament brought together 24 teams from Twitter, with Beach Boyz FC emerging as the winners.
The tournament will be celebrating 5 years since its inception and has attracted 24 teams that were drawn from Twitter.
Teams will be played on a knockout basis, with the winner taking home a cash prize of Sh100,000, courtesy of sponsors and betting company Odibets. The losing finalists will pocket Sh60,000, while the third-placed team gets Sh40,000 in consolation.
The tournament will start at 9 a.m. and run all the way to 6 p.m.
The tournament founder, Sir Alexas Muange, said it will be great to watch the tournament and that they are looking forward to another great tournament.
He shared a brief message about what the tournament is about, thanking their sponsors, who are Odibets, for their support.
“When we started #KOT5Aside, we never knew we would ever get to this point, but five years later, we have done 12 editions, three of them outside Nairobi. The journey has been beautiful, and we want to thank our sponsors, Odibets, for their support since we started our partnership in June 2019.”
