Khalif Kairo Urges Gen Z to abort marching to State House

Published on

Kenyan businessman and influencer Khalif Kairo, who has always been on the front line leading the countrywide protests against the 2024 Finance Bill, has asked the Gen’z to abort marching to State House as planned.

Kairo did a video earlier this morning asking those who initially had intentions of marching to State House to abort, sharing reasons why he feels like there’s no need to do so.

After everything that has happened, I want to give a disclaimer, and I am not doing this as a leader. I felt like, Let me make this video.

After what has happened today, I feel like we’ve had a very big win. We saw them climb down; it might not look like a big win, but we saw it. If we go to the streets tomorrow, we might erode whatever we’ve been able to do
.”

Khalif urged the public to give dialogue a chance and what the President said to materialize first before they consider otherwise, adding that even if the president were to resign today, the country’s problems wouldn’t be solved as the country is not entirely ruled by him alone.

Let’s give them a month; we can always come back. The president has talked about many things; let’s give him time and see what happens. If we see nothing has changed within two months, we can always come back to the spaces on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram and say we want to go to the streets again.

But at this particular point, we would be making a mistake. If we went to the streets again, it is not from a point of cowardice; it is from a point of patriotism. Looking at the bigger picture, which is basically the country looking and appreciating that if we love our country Kenya we should also not stand for anything that would bring stability in this country…. Tomorrow, you will not see me on the streets; I won’t be speaking for everyone since we have no leader. But anyone watching this video should take time to process it
.” Khalif said.
