On 1st March 2023 the British High Commissioner Jane Marriot sat with Kenyan Influencers and creative team to discuss food security.
The main essence of picking the Creative team was to find out how they can use their platforms, since they have an audience and a way to communicate messages concerning about food security.
Although this has been highly criticized online as a lame move or rather effort as people have opted that the Commissioner should have considered other people even scale it down to young farmers who know what is happening on the ground.
In attendance were Sauti sol’s Savara, Comedian Njugush,King Kaka and Azziad Nasenya.
Azziad has been trending following her recent appointment to the creative team.
Azziad took the moment and posted on his social media page telling people on what they had discussed.
“I was honoured to meet British High Commissioner to Kenya, Jane Marriott. We explored how content creator can amplify key messages on initiatives tackling food and security. Advocacy can indeed contribute to progressive change, and content creators can use their platforms for good.”
This then sparkled a lot of conversations online, people questioning the reason why of all people she settled on such.
Gee: Kenya has world renowned agricultural and horticultural experts who can be approached to give direction on food security and how to mitigate food insecurity but the UK @jane marriottUK goes to talk to TikToker #Azziad and comedian #njugush about food security! waht an insult!
Kulo Conrad: It can not work. Not with fellows like Njugush,King Kaka and Azziad.Let us be searious for once.
Abddulahi Adan: Kumbe the people that installed Zakayo and Baba Kayai are jokers too. Waht’s the connection between Azziad,Njugush and the rest with Food security?
