The United States government has announced that it will be giving Kenya 16 helicopters to boost the country’s security operations and peacekeeping missions.
This is part of the many benefits advanced to Kenya by President Joe Biden’s administration following the state visit by President William Ruto to Washington.
According to a statement from the White House on Thursday, 2024, Kenya will receive 16 gifts: 8 Huey choppers and 8 MD 500s. The choppers are set to be sent between late 2024 and mid-2025 and will be deployed to support Kenya’s regional peace and security efforts and peacekeeping missions.
Kenya also received a number of other benefits from the president’s visit to the United States, including: Money to improve prisons.

The White House did also say that there are seven US military in Kenya supporting the Kenya Aviators.
“The U.S. military currently has seven advisors in Kenya supporting Kenyan aviators, and for the first time, the United States is providing a Strategic Logistics Advisor to Kenya’s Ministry of Defence,” said the White House.
