Kenya Airways has announced the closure of offices in Kisumu and Johannesburg due to the anticipated protests in the two places.
The Kenya airways lines have said that the offices will remain closed as from Monday 20th march and re-open on the 21st of March 2023.
According to the thread shared online by the company, they said that they have done so due to the protests that might endanger the whole process.
“Kenya Airways wishes to inform our customers that our town booking offices in Johnnesburg, South Africa and Kisumu, Kenya will remain closed on Monday 20th March 2023 and Re open on 21st March 2023 due to the anticipated protests in these cities. All our other offices within our network including the airport offices in Johannesburg and Kisumu will be operational. Our sincere apologies to any inconveniences caused by the closure of the offices. The safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers are our highest priority.”
This closure is in response to anti-government protests that were directed by the opposition leader Raila Odinga in Kenya, who said that they will be doing so in sending the message to the Kenya Kwanza Government to reduce the high cost of living.
Meanwhile, South Africa pushed a national shutdown, accusing their President Cyril Ramaphosa’s administration of a growing list of challenges facing the country.
Both Countries are at it as they are protesting on the streets, hoping the Government will hear their cry and address their problems.
