Kennedy Rapudo Addresses Allegations of Being A Dead Beat Dad

Published on

Kenyan businessman and husband to Amber Ray Kennedy Rapudo has addressed allegations from the public that he is a dead-beat dad.

Speaking in an interview with Eve, he dismissed the allegations of being a deadbeat dad by backing himself up and saying that he has always been there for his child.

Kennedy Rapudo had organized a birthday party for his child over the weekend, but the party didn’t happen because the mother refused to let their son go to attend it.

“She denied me access once again, and we had paid for everything; even the cake was there. I had even invited some of his other friends. So you can imagine going through all those expenses and your child doesn’t show up. And I sent a driver with a car to go and pick him up, and she refused. Why does she refuse?” Kennedy Rapudo added

Kennedy said that he has always been there for his child and has even bought a car and hired a driver who drops and picks him up from school, aside from meeting his needs as a child and son.

He also responded to the issue of why he decided to take the mother to court on December 22nd last year, hinting that he did that because he wouldn’t want his son growing up believing that his dad was a dead-beat dad, considering how the mother had tarnished his name.

“I first sued her on the 22nd of December last year, and my reasons for sueing her are because she went to one of the telegram bloggers and spilled a lot of lies about me, saying that I am a dead beat, how I am this and that, and eventually the child grows up, and I wouldn’t want my child growing up knowing that I wasn’t there to support him.

That’s why I took this matter to court, and I took it so that I could have access to my child.”

Rapudo said that the Court decided they both cost share costs and make core parenting easy where he was asked to pay a monthly upkeep of 30,00Ksh as well as clear the school fees which he has been delivering whereas the mother was tasked to handle the rest still even after ensuring that he has done all that Rapudo has still been having a hard time seeing his son something he says hasn’t been easy to cope with.

“It has been frustration; only my family knows what I go through.”

Rapudo hopes that the court will rule in his favour and he will soon be able to spend time more with his son. He is currently engaged to Amber Ray with whom they have been blessed with a family.
