Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau, famously known by her stage name ‘Kate actress’, has responded to criticism from the public on why she was showing off when helping the flood victims.
Speaking via her social media, the mother of two (Son and daughter) confirmed that she doesn’t really mind what the public thinks of her, as she was just doing what was right by trying to send a message out there that there were people in need of help.
“I have a social responsibility to not only amplify and sensitize my people on social ills and injustices but to also mobilize resources in times of need.”
The mother of two, however, clarified that those calling her out, feeling that she went overboard by showing off that she was helping the less privileged, should consider keeping a close eye next time and at least say something positive out of it rather than criticizing.
“Next time you are inspired to type ‘leave the camera at home’, kindly remember that I am not your beloved; I have a responsibility.” Kate shared.
