Kasmuel explains why Youths ran away after inviting President Ruto on Twitter Space

Published on

Kenyan activist Kasmuel Mcoure has responded back to President Ruto’s earlier sentiments that youths failed to show up after asking him to join them on Twitter so that they can engage each other on how they can make Kenya a better place for all to live in.

Kasmuel, who has been making headlines lately as the leading activist leading not just Gen Z’s but the public’s protests against the 2024 Finance Bill, said that the President had no business being on Twitter and would have rather used the time to ensure that he was implementing what the public had asked of him.

“The President has no business being in an (X) Twitter space. We did not invite him to the (X) space. What we said was to stop killing us, stop brutalizing us, stop arresting us, and tell us where the abductees were taken. We wanted action, and he decided to be in cahoots. That is why that damn space has given him the confidence to say we were afraid. We were not afraid.” Kasmuel said.

He went further, explaining that clearly the President failed to understand the whole point and what was expected of him and instead chose to ignore his duties by joining the space on Twitter, which is why they boycotted the space.

“We boycotted the space because he was not acting at the time.”

Kasmuel went on to share his disappointment with the Kenyan President and the current Kenyan Kwanza Government, saying its priorities are misguided and he is focusing on things that can be handled later on.

“The only thing this government is good at is saying that Tumepanga, Tumetenga, and Na Tunasema are obsessed with building churches instead of hospitals and schools.” Kasmuel breathed fire while sharing this.

What the President said yesterday concerning engaging the youths

President William Ruto, who yesterday attended the opening of the church service in Bomet, said that he had enough of engaging the young people, saying that time is up and it is time to do things differently going forward, as his efforts to try to reason with the young people have yielded no fruit.

“Si imetosha hii maneno? Walisema tusipitishe Finance Bill, mimi nimewacha Finance Bill..nikawaita wakasema hawataki kuzungumza na mimi, wakaniambia niende huko kwa X wakatoroka huko hawakukueko.

Wameitisha mazungumzo, Nimeitisha mazungumzo wamekataa..wanaendela kusema wao ni faceless..sasa nimewaambia.. I have given everybody a chance to say what they want. It cannot continue like this; the country is much more important than any group of people. We must stand together as a nation and protect our nation and the democracy of our nation.”
President Ruto said.
